We are now accepting applications for our Fall 2022 internships. We are looking for some bright and motivated writers and photographers to join the team as interns. Untapped NYC interns can do it all: write published articles from day one, plan photo shoots, and explore the city. As an Untapped New York intern, you can learn how a web magazine and travel company really works, pitch your own ideas, get your work published in your first week, and of course, rediscover the city you love.
Editorial practices: Editorial interns will work directly with the Managing Editor of Untapped New York to determine the publication schedule, pitch new pieces, and write articles. Our editorial interns work on a wide range of pieces, from features and news articles to listicle stories. As an editorial intern, you’ll also gain experience with writing for search engine optimization and using social media to promote your own work and the site’s work. You don’t have to be a journalism major, as long as you’re a strong writer and can come up with ideas for content.
Photography practices: Photography interns work on assignments across all of our businesses: editorial, guided tours and membership. You’ll be around the city documenting current events and press releases, doing street photography and more.

For editorial internship applicants: Apply by emailing your resume, 3 writing samples on topics ideally relevant to Untapped New York reporting, and a list of 5 topic ideas.
For Photography Internship Applicants: Apply by emailing your resume, photography portfolio (can be a link or document), and a list of 5 locations you are interested in photographing for Untapped New York.
