Many website owners try to manipulate the algorithm, but despite this being the case, creating content precisely for the search engine will never help you rank high enough all things considered. People-first approaches are the name of the game, and clearly have been for at least two decades, if not longer.
It will be interesting to see how this affects people’s approaches to SEO in the near future. Some say that this is the harbinger of a major change to come, although Danny Sullivan himself has stated that it is only useful information to provide. SEO professionals who try to game the system will always end up with lower results because their web pages simply won’t contain the kind of authoritative information that Google is trying to provide people with.
The basic advice has remained the same, and it’s not likely to change anytime soon. Only a major seismic shift can change a fundamental element in SEO.
