Updated Google Product Reviews, Blogger SEO Best Practices, Mobile-First Alive Indexing, SEO Rumors and more

Surprisingly, Google just rolled out the Google Product Reviews update on August 2nd and didn’t even tell us about it on social media. We’re seeing some volatility and fluctuations in Google Search that may be due to the Google Product Reviews update that started last Friday and the tools noticed it on Wednesday, but that was after it was implemented. Google added new links to content guidelines, one of these guidelines was for SEO best practices for bloggers which was later removed. Google is still moving sites to mobile indexing, more than 5 1/2 years later. Google Search Console temporarily suspended the correction validation feature during some ranking changes. John Mueller from Google made a nice SEO slide, which some may not like. Google has changed how it displays snippets of search results with quoted text. Google is testing “insights” in search results. Google is testing site names and favicons for image results in web searches. Google is loading new people who also ask in the footer. Google is also bringing back the 3D view of some products. Google Business Profiles is testing an expandable menu for editing your listing. Google has added Asian ownership attributes for Google Business Profiles. Discovery ads now work with the Google Ads Editor and API and more… Google has a new tag, called the Google Tag. Microsoft Advertising rolled out a slew of features, including the launch of car ads, new ad formats, more bidding options, and more.
