TikTok launches new AI ad script generator

TikTok has released a free AI tool that can create scripts in seconds. The feature, called Script generatorit is available to everyone TikTok Creative Center users with a TikTok for Business desktop account.

Why we care: The script generator will make life easier for advertisers by generating scripts for them. And the best part is that if digital marketers hate the generated scripts, they have the option to re-run their query, as many times as they want, at no cost, as the tool is completely free.

How it works: Advertisers will simply need to enter basic information about the services or products they offer (eg product name, item description, relevant keywords) and then choose whether they’d like a 15-30 second clip or 31-60 seconds. .

After entering all the information, you can simply click Generate Scripts. This will produce various video scripts with hooks, scenes, calls to action and visual/audio cues.

Is there a catch? As with all AI-generated content, there is a risk that inaccurate information may be published. Advertisers who rely solely on this method may also find that their content becomes generic without originality, as AI content is created using existing trends, which could be bad for the brand. This could also lead to a decrease in engagement.

What did TikTok say? The company has warned digital marketers that they should not rely solely on AI-generated scripts as there is a risk of inaccuracies. He explained it in a statement:

“TikTok makes no promises or guarantees about content generated by Script Generator. It is solely your decision to use and/or publish content created with Script Generator in any advertisement or other material. You are solely responsible for any content created with Script Generator, including ensuring that such content is accurate and complies with applicable laws and regulations, and that such content is not endorsed, sponsored or approved by TikTok.”

Despite this, Anton ReyniersGoogle’s head of Creative Partnerships APAC, praised the new tool, stating:

“TikTok is ahead in its genuine understanding of the importance of creativity.”

The big picture: While AI-generated content can be a great PPC tool (see: A Google Ads script that uses GPT to write RSA), AI-generated content isn’t always accurate (as TikTok points out). Therefore, it could be potentially risky to rely solely on this method because humans are still a necessity in PPC.
