Google is rolling out a perspective filter to mobile search results

This weekend, Google began rolling out the new perspective filter to mobile search results. This feature was announced at Google I/O and we’ve seen previews and tests from Google over the past few months related to this feature and it’s now live.

how it looks Here’s a screenshot of the feature, you can see it by searching on mobile and sliding the filters in the search bar until you see an “outlooks” option. Click on the “insights” option to load these results:

More about perspectives. Searchers can filter their search results to display results for viewing videos, blogs, and forums. These results aim to show people a “lived experience” in their search queries, Liz Reid, Google’s vice president of search, told Search Engine Land at Google I/O. These searchers are able to see responses from people who share their own personal perspectives and these responses are provided in a user interface that is more user-friendly and consumable for the younger searcher.

When you tap the Insights filter, you’ll see more videos, images, and long and short written posts that people have shared on discussion boards, Q&A sites, and social media platforms, Google explained.

We looked at Google’s test perspectives early on, but these two examples are different from what we cover here. i saw this at the beginning of May.

Hat tip a Kumar Pal Shah to see it on Saturday.

Why we care Here’s a new way to see content within forums, videos, blogs and other formats where people give their insight and perspectives on a specific topic.

The filter is inside the search filter bar, so it’s not clear how many people will use it, but it’s rolling out now, and some of you might be able to play around with it to see if your content shows up for some queries.
