Google has sent policy violation notices to local service ad advertisers, but it’s currently unclear whether they’re being sent because of a new, improved app or if there was a bug that caused them to be served.
The policy notice. The email notification says, “Your account has policy violations that need to be resolved.” It goes on to say that “if you don’t act by June 12, your ads could stop running.” Here is a screenshot of the email notification Jason Brown sent me:
When you click to “view policy issues” you’ll be taken to a screen showing your policy violations, but when you dig deeper, you probably won’t have any issues listed. This screenshot is from Crystal Horton, who posted it Twitter.

Some say this notice was posted mostly on garage door repair lists, but I’m not sure if that’s 100% validated or not.
Error or not. Google Ads Link Ginny Marvin is currently investigating whether or not this is an error. Last night around 5:50 pm ET, Ginny posted Twitter“I don’t have an update, but the team is looking into it.”
Why we care If you received this warning, please wait for now, check back here to see when Google will give us more clarity on the issue. At the very least, according to the email, you have 12 days to act on this before it becomes a potential problem for your ads.
