Over the past few years, the construction industry has experienced a commercial boom, and one local company is poised to maintain that trajectory by improving the online presence of blue-collar businesses.
Local entrepreneurs Wes Mann and Chris Mackey have launched Blue Collar Marketing, a marketing and web design business to support blue collar industries that simply don’t have time to market themselves.
“The construction industry is a notorious laggard when it comes to digital marketing,” Mann shared. “However, we are starting to see a division forming. More companies are embracing digital, and those that aren’t are falling behind. It’s been a great couple of years for the industry, but good economic times don’t always last. Business will start to dry up and having a strong online presence will be very important.”
Mann and Mackey have a passion for crafts. The couple ran a property maintenance business while attending Queen’s University. With about 45 employees, they offered services such as roofing, landscaping and interlocking stone, painting and window cleaning.
Now, they’re taking that experience and combining it with their award-winning design business, Social Empireto provide websites and marketing services for these blue collar businesses.
“Imperium will continue to operate as a high-end web design agency that takes clients from any niche. Blue Collar Marketing will then handle all commercial clients,” explained Mackey.
“We are able to balance the two because we have an amazing team and standard operating procedures that allow us to manage growth. We strongly believe in investing in our people to properly scale a business!
Blue Collar Marketing has been working for over a year and after recent successes have worked with Ken White Construction, Cavanagh Constructioni WRC recruitment, the name Imperium Social quickly spread throughout the Ottawa area. Demand for business websites increased and quickly became the most common project type for the web development team, leading them to an accelerated launch of Blue Collar Marketing in November 2022.
From logo design i web design to a new solution they call “Blue Collar Partner Program”, this company offers search engine optimization (SEO), Google Advertising (pay per click), marketing consulting, graphic design, reputation management and more to market businesses.
Blue Collar Marketing’s digital partner program is the “best solution on the market to help you grow your business,” Mann said. “It allows you to focus on running your business and leave your marketing to us for less than the cost of a minimum wage worker. We partner with you for the long term and help you succeed, year after year” .
With three in-house employees and a team of remote employees, all with blue-collar work experience, Blue Collar Marketing is dedicated to seeing hiring companies reach their potential.
The team’s passion for the trades and web design is evident in their work. Visit the Blue Collar Marketing Website for more information and to contact the team.
