A group representing minority business owners in the Jefferson City area will hold a free marketing workshop Friday morning.
The Minority Business Council of Jefferson City will host “How to Own Your Local Market” at First Mid Bank & Trust from 9 am to 1 pm Anyone interested in attending the workshop you will need to register before 8 am
According to the organization, the workshop will teach small business owners about online marketing strategies designed to grow their businesses. The free event plans to cover topics related to customers, building a business, marketing and sales.
Attendees will also learn about digital tools such as search engine optimization (SEO), social media and Google.
According to US Census Bureau Small Business Pollthe COVID-19 pandemic had a negative effect on 50% of small businesses, and 80% of small businesses reported a decrease in revenue.
The Jefferson City Minority Business Council is affiliated with the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce. Board members help minority businesses develop strategic plans, connect with available resources and advocate for growth.
