The marketing leader serving elder law and estate planning attorneys

By Shaun Ryan

For attorneys practicing in elder law and estate planning, having the necessary education and experience is not enough. Reaching the population that needs these services the most is essential to success.

And that depends on effective marketing, which requires the person or company offering it to appreciate the nuances of that particular field. Perhaps too often, attorneys will hire a marketing firm that serves a diverse clientele and may use the same approach they use with the local grocery store or auto repair facility.

That is where Bambiz Marketing excels.

“The reason we’re so popular with law and estate planning firms is because we only work with them,” said Bambiz founder Jim Blake.

Another difference between Bambiz and other marketing agencies is that Blake’s company does not tie its clients to long-term contracts.

“Our contract is: You’ll love working with us so much you won’t want to quit,” Blake said.

In other words, Bambiz must produce results to ensure its own future success.

The five-person agency provides digital marketing for attorneys across the country, managing websites, lead generation, social media and other types of online services. Most of the agency’s clients call on Bambiz to fill events, such as presentations at hotels and community centers where attorneys provide important information about wills and trusts, probate, privacy and more.

Some lawyers approach Bambiz simply looking for content for blogs, newsletters or social media. Saves the lawyer time.

Others want help with search engine optimization to increase online traffic or lead generation, getting their message across to the desired population.

And some lawyers prefer to outsource all marketing to Bambiz because they want to focus on practicing law.

Build a business

The roots of Bambiz (which stands for Blake Advertising and Marketing Business) go back to Blake’s decade doing marketing and sales for the world’s largest tire and rubber company, Bridgestone Corp. In 2007, he had earned a bachelor’s degree in business and communications from Illinois State University. , and discovered that he had an interest in helping businesses grow.

At first, he managed Bridgestone products at large companies, but then moved from Chicago to Tampa, where he worked with independent retailers.

At the time, his wife worked for companies that presented educational events for lawyers. She suggested that she could help these lawyers with their marketing.

He agreed but offered his services for free because he wanted to educate himself in the field before charging a fee. It soon became apparent that he really knew his stuff because his efforts on behalf of these lawyers were successful.

“It was just one of those things in life where you’re like, wow, I guess this is where I was meant to be,” he said.

Friends suggested he get paid for his work, so in 2016 he quit his job and replaced his salary by supplying marketing for lawyers. He trained in elder law and estate planning and today has accumulated enough knowledge that he said he could probably lead one of the educational workshops himself.

And their efforts have paid off. Bambiz is now one of the leading marketing agencies for elder law and estate planning attorneys.

Bambiz has been with the link since opening its doors in Nocatee in 2021.

Blake and his family had moved to Northeast Florida from Miami, where he had an office at WeWork, a co-working space provider.

When he heard about the soon-to-be-opened Link — a business incubator, co-working space and community centerpiece offering a variety of programs — he made inquiries and was pleased with what he learned. .

He started by acquiring a dedicated desk for the new facility.

“I liked it so much that I stopped by the office,” he said.

An attraction of the link is its proximity. It’s close enough to his home that Blake can walk to work, or take a golf cart or scooter.

“I can go back and forth between my house and here in less than five minutes,” he said.

The joint, located at 425 Town Plaza Ave., also offers plenty of fun activities, and Blake said his daughter has participated in its Kids Night Out, while he has taken her to Daddy-Daughter dances.

“It’s really nice,” Blake said. “My daughter knows I work here, but she also knows she has fun playing here.”
