Where to find “Merchant Listing Performance” in Search Console

The new data can be accessed through the “Performance” report under the “Google Search Image” tab.

From there, you can monitor the performance of your listings on different Google Surfaces.

This includes information about impressions, clicks and other key metrics related to product listings.

By integrating merchant listing performance into Search Console, businesses have a more complete view of their product visibility to optimize their strategies accordingly.

Eligibility and purchases section in Search Console

A qualify for merchant listing reports, Google must identify a website as an online merchant that primarily sells physical goods or services directly to consumers.

Affiliate sites or those that redirect users to other platforms to complete the purchase are not considered eligible.

Once you are recognized as an online merchant, Search Console will display a “Purchases” section in your navigation bar.

This dedicated area houses tools and reports tailored to shopping experiences, such as:

Rich product snippet report: Provides information about the structured data of product snippets on the site, enabling search results visualizations enhanced with visual elements such as ratings and prices.
Rich merchant listing report: Offering structured data analysis of merchant listings allows for more comprehensive search results, which often appear in carousels or knowledge boards.
Shopping tab listings: Information and guidance on how to allow products to appear on the dedicated Shopping tab of Google Search results.

Google’s automated systems determine a site’s eligibility as an online merchant based on the presence of structured data and other factors.

To sum up

This new Google Search Console feature provides valuable insight into the visibility of your product listings in search results.

You can use these insights to make changes and improve the visibility of your products so that more potential customers can find them.
