Google Search Ranking Algorithm Volatility On Saturday, June 1st

Google Logo Melt Explode

Google has been super volatile for the past few weeks and now I see even more volatility on the first day of June, last Saturday. It was actually quite a hot weekend, with many of the tools showing extreme volatility and chatter within the SEO community was unusually high for a weekend.

I find it odd that Google hasn’t said much about volatility, but at the same time, Google doesn’t comment on all the volatility we report. In fact, Google rarely comments on the volatility of the Google updates we report here.

Previous Google’s recent volatility

Here’s the recent Google Search ranking volatility we reported on. The most recent was Memorial Day weekend, then we had around May 22nd, May 16th, May 9th, May 3rd, and April 25th. Previously, the March 2024 Core Update started on March 5 and ended on April 19, 45 days later.

SEO Network

The SEO talk has heated up so much a WebmasterWorld and comments here. Here are some of those talks:

My overall site traffic sources appear to be normal, but on Friday I was at 129.8% and so far after 6pm 158.8%, a fast start to June! Light traffic today. And another day with almost immeasurable Google traffic. So it seems to be like this every Saturday now. My Friday tracking is 20% high, which is not a normal trend, but still no orders, very small inquiries… Notice some big moves in the last 24 hours. Semrush Sensors confirmed this.

Excited, I immediately checked the SERPs.

Even more spam now. Forums + PDF upload spam. Traffic is horrible and no conversions today. And it just so happens that this crazy fluctuation happened on June 1st, the last month of the second quarter.

same They’re tripling whatever they’re doing. It’s depressing. For sure. The wild ride goes on forever.

There is constantly more parasite spam everywhere,

They are doing the opposite of what they said they would do.

The worst parasite spam SERPs I usually checked eventually moved, but they went to even more spam.

Traffic is extremely low, even from my reddit “experiments” there is hardly any traffic.

Google tracking tools

As you can see, most of these tools have gotten really hot and have shown a lot of volatility in Google rankings over the past week.

What are you all watching?

I just ran the visibility numbers for 382 sites hit hard by September’s HCU(X) so… Nope, no change. Not as expected yet, but wanted to check based on the latest volatility. If we see movement there, it will probably be with the next… https://t.co/k8ZBQPsGgS
