Google adds a "web" filter to show only text-based links in Google Search results

Google is rolling out a new search filter to show only text-based links in search results. The filter is called “Web”. Clicking on it removes images, videos or other forms of search results; only classic blue links are shown.

Web Filter You can find the web filter next to the other filters in the menu. Sometimes this means it’s on the same line as the video filter, news filter, etc. Other times it’s in the “more” menu.

Here are some screenshots where Google posted X:

Web filter More

Month. Google search link Danny Sullivan apparently advocated the creation of a web filter. he he wrote, “Since I joined Google, I’ve been a guy in front of the search group asking it to like a web filter. Very happy to see that it has arrived, congratulations to the hardworking team for this project who with their own efforts have made it a reality!

He added: “We’ve launched a new ‘Web’ filter that only shows text-based links, just as you can filter to show other types of results, such as images or videos. The filter appears at the top of the results page along with with other filters or as part of the “More” option, which will be rolled out globally today and tomorrow. We added this after hearing from some that there are times when they would prefer to only see links to web pages in the results of search, such as those looking for longer text documents, using a device with limited Internet access, or those who prefer text-only results to be displayed separately from the search functions. enjoy!”

Google tested this in the form of “web results” in February this year.

Why we care Now, if you want to remove forums, videos, news, images, or other forms of search results, you can. You can only filter by text links and go back to the pre-2007 days of universal search.
