The Google March Core Update is still ongoing and the intense fluctuations continue

Heated Google Logo Update

Over the last few days, while I was offline, the SEO chatter around Google search ranking volatility continued to be very intense. Google’s tracking tools seemed to calm down a bit, but the chatter is still very hot. All this while the Google March 2024 Core Update is still rolling out 51 days later.

There are many places that are seeing more and more movement, not all for the better. Those affected by the September 2024 content update are still not seeing any recovery, with many showing further declines. And those affected by other updates in the past are seeing all sorts of things.

We reported on the volatility of the March core update on April 17, April 14, and many times before.

SEO Network

Here’s some of the latest buzz from the SEO community at WebmasterWorldcomments here and on social networks:

A poor Monday for my overall site at 70.4% of April average so far, traffic has been at this level since Thursday 18th April, everything was fine until then, did I miss something? It seems something has changed again as of April 21st. Down !Yesterday a big drop in all the niches of my sites. It looks worse today. Everything is absolutely dead today…April 20th, 21st and 22nd was good. End of the 22nd and today seems to be down, especially for my secondary site. But it’s still not catastrophic.

The first 3 rankings are going down very slowly. Lower position rankings slowly increase.

Absolutely dead for me today. Something has happened in the last few days. I see the same trend for several sites: at first glance it looks like there’s minimal loss of keywords, while traffic has dropped by as much as half. I take a closer look and a lot of important first positions that brought traffic have been lost. At this rate there will be very few surviving sites Massive drop at 9am sharp today, 75% drop in visits between 9am and 2pm so far. This is all traffic from the US, which is down 33%. UK, AU, CA, UAE and Germany are all on the way. Direct and Google traffic just disappeared. It looks like the update is coming to an end. Are you noticing a new drop in traffic? Familiar snake move with Google pushing even further down. My web pages were shown yesterday, April 24th, and after 8:00 PM the same day, the 90% off web pages were gone. Cannot be found in Google search. Just when my website was recovering and my finances took a big hit, stuck in the same boat now. Absolutely nothing today, dead! Yes, same here.

As I said in previous posts, since Saturday’s numbers were abysmal, yesterday was so bad that I had to check to see if my sites were dropping.

Today it is the same. Acceleration/thief is at maximum setting.

My site is officially dead after 14 years of work, a 95% drop from HCU…

Good morning Google Land! If I have to say it one more time, I might jump out of my office window. 😉 This is the April 24th edition of “Core Update Notes”. We are now 51 days away from the March Core Update. The tools have cooled down a lot and maybe this is a sign of the update… pic.twitter.com/974rpYI8Tf
