Facebook, Instagram and Threads fall into 'global outage'

Facebook, Instagram and Threads are currently facing widespread disruption, with many users unable to access the platforms globally.

Users trying to sign in to websites and apps are met with error messages that prevent them from updating their feeds as usual. Additionally, some users have been automatically locked out of their accounts and are unable to log back in.

Update: Meta apologized and confirmed that it is now “recovering” from the outage that affected the ability to log into its platforms. The services are in the process of restoration.

global problem The outage appears to be affecting numerous countries around the world, as indicated by more than 300,000 Facebook outage reports and more than 20,000 Instagram reports on the Downdetector tracking website.

Affected areas. Meta issued a statement, confirming major disruptions to ad creation and management, content sharing and management, as well as inboxes. The statement read:

“We are aware of an issue users are having logging into our platforms. Our engineering teams are aware and actively looking to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”

Chronology The widespread outage appears to have begun at 10 a.m. ET on March 5.

What Meta says. Meta’s head of communications, Andy Stone, confirmed the issue Xwriting:

“We are aware that people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.”
