Performance marketing store Tug expands to the United States

Digital performance marketing agency Tug has opened an office in New York.

The agency plans to help US clients with their overseas marketing requirements and has hired three staff in New York, in addition to its 20-person Toronto office.

Tug manages the global business for legal software provider Leap and works with Intuit, the software producer behind QuickBooks, Air Miles, WWF and Mary Brown’s Chicken.

The independent performance agency has offices in London, Sydney, Berlin, Singapore and Toronto, and offers display, social media, pay-per-click, search engine optimization and data and analytics across all markets.

“We come to New York with a different offering than other agencies in London. We understand the international arena and want to work with US clients to help them expand their business overseas,” founder Nick Beck told Campaign. “I think we have a unique offering, we’re going to the US to take advantage of our global offering (we have a presence on three continents) and we have some fantastic US clients, so opening in New York makes sense.”

Tug, which was created in 2008, appointed former Proximity global CEO Mike Dodds to its board earlier this year. Dodds has previously held senior digital roles at WPP and Omnicom Group.

The agency said it will appoint an MD for Tug New York in a few weeks.

Tug founder Beck said he would like to expand the network to India in the future.
