Google Search currently has a bug where the local package, the local search results box, doesn’t publish to your mobile search results desktop. This is affecting a lot of search engines right now and it seems like it is they have started around 8:40 am ET on Wednesday, February 14.
Some search engines can see the local packages, but here in the US and many other countries, the local package doesn’t seem to show up for any search engines.
Searches like lawyers near me, density near me, florists near me, pizza near me, car repair near me, etc. none of these return the local package in Google Search results at this time.
It also doesn’t work when searching directly on Google Maps:

As it should be. Here is one screenshot from a browser that is able to view the local UK package. This local package should appear at the top or middle of the normal search results.

Google has yet to report on this issue, but this can have a serious impact on local businesses that receive a lot of traffic from these local packages.
Why we care If you’re a local business and rely on generating traffic and sales through the Google Local Pack and local search results, you know there’s something wrong. I suspect Google will fix this bug relatively quickly, but it’s been over an hour since we noticed the bug and it still hasn’t been fixed.
