YouTube has introduced several new features for YouTube Studio that gives creators more insights and customization of their channels.
1. Improved search tab comes to desktop
Last year, YouTube Studio added an improved search tab for mobile, including content gaps for shorts.
The search tab gives creators a summary of what viewers are searching for on YouTube. Content gaps highlight video ideas and topics that currently need higher quality results on the platform.

2. Community clips can now be shared publicly
Many viewers discover short clips cut from longer YouTube videos on external platforms like Reddit and Discord. These snippets tend to go viral elsewhere, but aren’t easily discovered on YouTube.
Creators can now enable a “Community Clips” section on their YouTube channel. This will publicly display up to five top clips from your viewer-made videos, organized by most popular first.
YouTube believes that making these clips discoverable directly on the platform will drive more viewership and engagement. Clips displayed on a channel also provide another potential revenue opportunity for creators, as they drive viewership of the full video.
3. New analytics provide more insight into playlists
YouTube is adding more metrics and statistics for playlists.
A new playlist analysis section in YouTube Studio allows a side-by-side comparison of top playlists with aggregated data from the videos in each.
This includes statistics such as total views, watch time, traffic sources and more.
These additional metrics are intended to help creators better attribute views, watch time, and traffic to playlists. YouTube says it’s similar to analytics groups in advanced mode, but it’s specialized for playlist-level insights.
4. Scheduled Posting for Members Only Content
A new option will allow YouTube creators to schedule members-only videos to be automatically published publicly at a later date.
This means creators can upload content and designate it as members-only while choosing a date for its public release. Members will receive notifications within two hours of publication.
YouTube expects this improvement to streamline workflows around Member Benefits and Early Access.
