Google’s John Mueller again had a good line X; he said, “No one can guarantee you traffic, sorry.” This means you can’t say that making X changes will result in Y traffic for sure. You can’t guarantee it, he said.
This was in response to an SEO who said his boss wanted to know if they change something on the site, will there be an increase in traffic or not.
Samarth Upadhyay, the SEO asked, “I am asking my boss to remove these parameters, but he is asking me, “Okay, let’s say we removed them, will our traffic increase then?” I don’t know what to do in this situation. Do I still have to push him to take this step?”
Google’s John Mueller responded: “Nobody can guarantee you traffic, sorry.”

I know many SEOs have some formulas that estimate the ROI of making SEO changes. They can estimate if they make a specific change and the ranking improves by Y and maybe that would lead to an increase in Z clicks, then the revenue can increase by a specific percentage.
But these would be estimates and not guarantees. That is unless you sell your SEO services as a revenue share model, as some do.
