Harnessing the power of SEO benefits your business in many ways. Organic traffic provided by SEO could also increase your earnings on Medium. Here’s how.

Many writers think they don’t need Search Engine Optimization (SEO) on Medium because they think external Google views won’t pay them anything. Guess again.

And if part of your business is writing on Medium, external views and traffic from Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engine results pages (SERPs) will only increase your earnings.

Let me point out how SEO can help you and your business, while also exploring how SEO can make you more money on Medium and attract proposals and contracts from other businesses that need SEO.

Many of my top-earning Medium stories were written for clients who wanted to take advantage of Medium’s high domain authority and my 6,000 followers.

They originally found one of my stories on LinkedIn. They wanted me to write an article about cryptocurrency and add a link to their page from Medium. They, of course, know that Medium has a 95 domain authorityaccording to Moz.

I was paid $120, actually 120 USDTwhich is a stable currency pegged to the USD.

Unlike many digital currencies, USDT, sometimes called Tether, has 95 billion coins, so it rarely fluctuates more than 0.01 in either direction.

So I wrote the story, published on Medium, which they filed 120 USD to my Binance account and then I won another one $354 from the history of Medium readers.

Of course, it would have done better if more 8,700 spectators they had been average members. However, my real point is that 2,170 views came directly from Google, 837 from Bing, and 256 from Yahoo.

And yes, some of them were Medium members. It doesn’t matter where your reader finds your story. If they’re a Medium member and read it, you get paid.
