Google has been battling site name issues since it launched the site name feature in October 2022 for mobile and then site names for desktop results in March 2023. Danny Sullivan, the ‘Google search link, responded to my complaints about the site name issues, saying the site. is doing everything right and that Google will investigate what it can do to fix these problems.
Note that this is in addition to internal pages that are known to refresh more slowly when it comes to site names. But Google said in September that it saw massive improvement with the site name issue. In May 2023, Google started supporting subdomains and domains, but not subdirectories. In July, Google pushed a bigger update to improve site names to display them more accurately. Google also supports site names in all languages earlier this month.
But Sullivan wrote in two different ones Google Webmaster help forum thread that will pass along the issues found because it looks like the site owners did everything right.
He wrote:
You seem to have things in place correctly; I’ll pass this on to the team to see if there are any general improvements we can find to make by looking at it. It’s MHP when I look at it. I think you said earlier that this happened more in German, which I understand is a major concern. But the fact that I see it correctly in English suggests that it should work with our systems. I’ll pass this on to see if we can find any more general improvements. Other than what’s in the docs, nothing else to do. I see what looks like a good implementation. I’m sorry about that. I will pass on the comments for a general improvement review.
Danny Sullivan has been on these site name issues since day one and responds to a ton of complaints on the forums. It’s great to see that the outliers and twists are still working with them.
