Anti-Semitic queries 'massively up' since October 7, SEO expert says

Internet Expert’s Study of Google Searches for Anti-Semitic Queries Makes Him ‘Fearing for Jews Everywhere!’

Mordy Oberstein, a leading expert in search engine optimization (SEO), authored the study for The Middle East Journal and shared the data on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. The statistics made him “shudder,” he said.

“I didn’t think the data was that bad,” Oberstein posted. “The numbers have gone up all over the world.”

Some of the highlights of the study show that Google searches for “glory to our martyrs” and “intifada revolution” increased by 12,000% since October 7, the day Hamas attacked Israel.

Other phrases with massive search increases include “kill Jews,” up 1,800%, and “why Jews are bad,” up 450%.

“Hitler was right” queries have also increased by 120%, according to data from digital marketing platform Semrush.

The highest increase, with 100,000 searches per month in the US alone, a global increase of 15,000%, is for the phrase “river to sea”.

“Please note that this is a phrase that is part of Hamas’s official charter and also caused the US Congress to censure one of its members for using it,” Oberstein wrote. It also pulled data from France, Turkey, Germany and the UK.

Hamas, however, immediately rejected Iran’s statement, stressing that the group has “repeatedly” confirmed the “motives and reasons” for the attack, which it called “acts of Palestinian resistance… in response to the Zionist occupation and its ongoing aggression against our people and our holy places,” The Jerusalem Post reported.
