YouTube creators can now give away 10 free subscriptions every month as part of a new program aimed at making audience growth easier.
Eligible creators with channel memberships can use this benefit at no additional cost to promote the benefits of your memberships.
Why we care This promotion is designed to give viewers a taste of the benefits of subscribing to your channel. Once they recognize the value, there is potential to upgrade to full paying members, helping to increase revenue and brand awareness.
Starting. To ensure your account qualifies for this discount, please:
You have channel subscriptions enabled on your channel. Offer a membership level under $5.
How it works. To give away these free subscriptions to viewers during a live stream or premiere, follow these simple steps:
Click the “$” icon inside the live chat. Select “Member Gifts”. Click “Give 5 Now”.
You can give gift subscriptions in batches of 5, twice a month. Share them in a single stream or in multiple streams throughout the month. Unused gifts reset on the 1st of each month, so make sure you use them regularly.
Exclusions Free Gift Passes are not currently available for brand accounts, but YouTube has confirmed this it will be soon. You can check if you’re using a brand account:
Logging in to your Google account Look under “Your Brand Accounts” to locate your linked Brand Accounts.
Make sure you’re using the correct account by clicking your profile picture in the top right corner if you don’t see one listed.

“We’ve seen a lot of these comments [about this] and we’ve shared this with the team working on member gifts.” “These free gift subscriptions are distributed to viewers based on how much they’ve viewed and engaged with your channel at the moment, but we’ll keep you posted if that changes! ”
