Google Search Console to stop reporting product search results in performance reports

Google Search Console will stop reporting product search results in Search Console performance reports and the Search Console API starting January 2024. Websites with product pages will soon no longer be clickable in the search appearance filter and see product results option.

announcement Google published this news around 3:45am ET on X, saying: “Earlier this year, Search Console split the search appearance of product results into two: merchant listings and product snippets. As a result , in January 2024 we will stop reporting the appearance of product search results, both in the performance report and in the API.”

More details Google is referring to March, when Google Search Console exploded merchant listings and product snippet appearances. New search appearances for merchant listings and product snippets can be seen in two places in Search Console:

Merchant lists and product snippet reports as an overlay on top of the report charts Performance report in the search appearance tab or via a filter

Why we care If you’re using the Product Results Search Appearance filter in your Google Search Console performance reports, you should prepare for it to disappear.

Less data is never good, but Google will remove this filter in about a month. However, you should be able to access this data in your Merchant Center reports in Search Console.
