Revised data.<\/strong> Here are the revised statistics for April in the US <\/p>\n Google fell to 86.58%, down from 86.94% in March and 88.88% year-over-year. Microsoft Bing grew to 8.24%, up from 8.04% in March and 6.43% year-over-year. Yahoo grew to 2.59%, from 2.48% in March and from 2.33% year-to-date.<\/p>\n Google is falling.<\/strong> While not as dramatic a drop as Statcounter first reported, Google has been steadily losing US search market share since August 2023, when it was 89.03%. Google’s highest search market share in the past 12 months was 89.1% in May 2023. <\/p>\n Worldwide.<\/strong> Google has a 90.91% search market share, according to data reviewed by Statcounter. This is down from 91.38% in March and 92.82% year-on-year. Google’s highest search market share in the last 12 months globally was 93.11% last May.<\/p>\n Microsoft Bing is at 3.64%, up from 2.76% year-over-year. Yahoo is at 1.13%, up from 1.11% year-to-date.<\/p>\n Still reviewing.<\/strong> However, Statcounter is still reviewing its search data for April 2024, according to a popup on its chart. <\/p>\n According to Statcounter, this data could change even more in the next 40 days when its quality assurance review and testing period ends.<\/p>\n No comments.<\/strong> Since I acknowledged the problem via email, I have yet to receive a response from Statcounter. I’ll add a comment if\/when they provide one about what happened to their April data. To be fair, it’s the weekend, so I plan to follow up again tomorrow (Monday).<\/p>\n
