Google Search is having issues with indexing as of this morning. A few hours later, Google confirmed the problem. I’m seeing tons of SEO reports on X that Google is having indexing issues, tons. So I’m posting this story to see if I can see firsthand if Google still has indexing issues. In fact, minutes after publishing this story, this specific story was crawled, indexed and ranked in Google Search. But there are many complaints from India and other regions about indexing problems with Google Search.<\/p>\n

Update: Google is looking into it. Google search link Danny Sullivan confirmed:<\/p>\n

Update again: Google has confirmed<\/a> the issue read: “Google is investigating reports of delayed indexing in Google Search affecting a small number of sites. We are working to identify the root cause. The next update will be in 12 hours.” John Mueller also posted this LinkedIn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Based on some of my testing, looking at recent content from the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and others, I’m seeing this content indexed in Google Search.<\/p>\n

For example, this story<\/a> it was posted less than 45 minutes ago and I see it ranks in Google Search:<\/p>\n

But like I said, I’m seeing tons of complaints on Twitter this morning. Maybe Google fixed it, but I still don’t see any confirmation from Google on this issue.<\/p>\n

Most of the complaints seem to be coming out of India this morning. I’m not sure if this is a problem that only affects this region or if they are awake before everyone else and notice the problem first?<\/p>\n

I’ll update this story as I follow up to see it crawled, indexed, and ranked, and if there’s any feedback from an official Google representative. <\/p>\n

Update 2: Some say that if the site has an AMP version, then it has a problem, otherwise it doesn’t. I have not checked this:<\/p>\n
